Terms of Service
Welcome to SunnyScribe. These Terms are a contract between you (the "Buyer") and the individual proprietor of SunnyScribe software (the "Vendor", "we", or "us") governing your use of SunnyScribe software and related services. By downloading, installing, activating, or using the software, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
1. License and Scope of Use
A purchase grants permanent use of the purchased major version and free updates and fixes within that major version. A later major-version upgrade may require a separate purchase.
- Each License Token may be activated on one device that you own or control.
- License verification occurs locally. Normal transcription, editing, and export do not require a continuous internet connection.
- You may not rent, resell, distribute the software, or provide the license to unauthorized third parties.
2. User Conduct
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits it. You may not use the software for unlawful activity or to infringe the legal rights of third parties.
3. Updates and Maintenance
SunnyScribe is offline-first and does not depend on background update checks. You are responsible for checking the official website and installing fixes or security updates manually. We aim to support listed Windows versions but do not guarantee that old releases will remain compatible with all future operating-system or hardware changes.
4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Audio, transcripts, and project files are stored on your device, and you are responsible for backups. Speech recognition may contain errors and must be reviewed before use in medical, legal, financial, or other high-risk decisions. Purchases are processed by third-party payment platforms under their own terms. The software is provided “as is,” and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee error-free or uninterrupted operation in every environment.
Privacy Policy
SunnyScribe follows an offline-first, user-controlled data principle. Audio, transcripts, and project files are processed and stored locally by default and are not uploaded as part of license or payment fulfillment.
1. Local Processing and No Telemetry
Speech recognition, playback, editing, annotation, and project management run on your Windows device. We do not use the software to collect or upload audio, transcript text, comments, annotations, or project files, and we do not collect usage duration or interaction records through background telemetry.
2. License and Order Information
For purchase, redemption, license retrieval, and support, the license service processes only the information required for fulfillment, such as the 32-character Machine ID, License ID, order number, payment channel, redemption-code hash, claim hash, and related status records. This information does not include your audio or transcript content.
3. Third-Party Payments and Infrastructure
Payments are processed by the applicable third-party platform. We will not ask you to send card numbers, payment passwords, or complete payment credentials by email. Payment providers and website infrastructure may process information needed for transactions and security under their own privacy policies.
4. Customer Support and Contact
When you contact us by email, we process your email address and any order number, Machine ID, or problem description you voluntarily provide in order to respond. Do not send payment passwords, full card details, production private keys, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Refund Policy
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
SunnyScribe perpetual-license purchases include a full refund guarantee for 14 days from the purchase date. To request a refund, email support@sunnyscribe.com with the order number, purchase channel, and necessary license information. Do not send card numbers or payment passwords.
License Handling After Refund
After the payment platform confirms the refund, we manually revoke the related license record using the order and Machine ID. Because License Tokens support offline verification, the server cannot remotely delete a Token already stored on a device. If you need to change devices rather than receive a refund, contact support for manual review.
Third-Party Payment Platforms
Refund requests and settlement status follow the records of the payment platform used for the purchase. Some refunds may require platform review, and processing time can vary by payment channel and payment method.
